What you need to know about 健康保险 as a student at Manhattan School of Music.
All full-time Manhattan School of Music students are required to have health insurance that meets the 最低基本保险 由美国政府制定的要求.S. 平价医疗法案. All full-time Manhattan School of Music students will be pre-enrolled in the plan and charged via their student bill.
The MSM 学生健康保险计划 (SHIP) is mandatory for all F-1 visa holders. 不接受国际健康保险计划. Students enrolled at MSM through our partnership exchange program are also 被要求参加msm赞助的计划. Exemptions: Enrollment is voluntary for DMA students in their 3rd year and beyond.

Domestic students and international students in other status (green card, J-visa, etc.) will be allowed to submit an online waiver application through 这个链接 and may be granted a waiver of the school-sponsored plan after meeting eligibility requirements.

- Waiver applications made after 08/15/23 but before 10/1/2023 will incur a $100 late fee that will be added to your student account.
- Waiver applications submitted after 10/1/2023 will be considered on a case-to-case basis and if granted will incur a $250 late fee.
To be eligible to waive the MSM-sponsored 学生健康保险计划 (SHIP) your individual/private plan:

- Must be effective no later than August 20 (For full-time students enrolled for Fall–Spring 2023-24 academic year, 8月20日投保一年, 2023年8月19日, 2024. For students graduating in the Fall, coverage is required through December 31.)
- New York State Medicaid will be accepted as long as dates of coverage match requirements above
Students who are approved to waive the MSM-sponsored 学生健康保险计划 (SHIP) and are covered by another health insurance provider should contact their health insurance provider directly to request information for local medical providers, urgent care centers and clinics authorized to provide services. ALL students are encouraged to organize a list of medical care providers in the area, 包括联系方式, that accept their individual insurance plan prior to arriving at Manhattan School of Music.
